After a very fulfiling career as a solicitor in both private and in-house commercial practices, followed by a period of time as an Officer in both the Army and Royal Air Force, I determined that I wanted to be in full control of my own career and achieve that elusive work/life balance.  Given the skills that I had gained throughout my legal and military experience, I came to the conclusion that I was in prime position to use my skills to undertake the work that others may not have the inclination or confidence to do.  Despite having a good understanding of accounts through my work as a solicitor, I sat the appropriate exams and became a Certified Bookkeeper through the Institue of Certified Bookkeepers, becoming an Associate Member.
